Consultations are undertaken via secure video link, using clinic software.
A full, comprehensive medical history undertaken by a specialist is important as a starting point, as it helps identify things such as triggering events, family history, environmental influences, hormone imbalance and/or other contributing factors, enabling informed decisions to be made about appropriate management, including signposting and/or diagnostic testing.
Dr Naomi Whitelaw MB.BS., MRCOG is available for consultations, supported by diagnostic testing when appropriate, reassuring you of a commitment to provide a high level of medical care and attention.
Appointment availability: We make every effort to accommodate new and existing patients as quickly as possible, with appointment slots allocated on a weekly basis for this purpose.
Each patient receives personalised treatment, with a range of consultation, diagnostic and treatment options available.
INITIAL CONSULTATION – £225
A comprehensive consultation lasting 60 minutes on average, where you will have an opportunity to discuss your symptoms, as well as be asked about your medical history and lifestyle etc., plus any current treatment or medications you are receiving. You are under no obligation to proceed with anything further at this point, should you wish to take some time to decide. If you are under the care of another healthcare professional for certain conditions, please be aware that Dr Whitelaw may not be able to commence treatment without prior discussion with them.
Please note that this charge is for your consultation only and does not include diagnostics, reporting or correspondence with your GP or other specialist/practitioner.
Patients who are returning after 2 or more years without a review consultation will be required to undergo an Initial Consultation.
DIAGNOSTICS
Diagnostic tests may recommended, which provide an insight into your health and the results of these tests will be used to formulate your personalised treatment plan and prescription. In certain circumstances, you may be required to provide a sample on a specific day of the month; this will be fully explained and arrangements made, if necessary. As a minimum, patients undergoing treatment with Dr Whitelaw will require testing annually to ensure hormone levels remain in physiological range, which can be through us or via your GP/other. The cost of private diagnostics – determined by each laboratory – will be communicated to you by email and is separate to any consultation fee.
PROVIDING YOUR OWN TEST RESULTS – £25
There is a charge for the administration of each set of external results (those supplied by a GP or other practitioner/source), regardless of what information they provide. It is unusual for all the tests needed by Dr Whitelaw to be available on the NHS, so do bear this in mind if approaching your GP. In instances where insufficient diagnostic information is available Dr Whitelaw will be unable to make a result-based recommendation, causing delays and possible frustration.
DIAGNOSTIC FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATION – £125
For clients having diagnostic testing, this second video consultation provides an opportunity to discuss the results with Dr Whitelaw plus any recommended treatment plan or action, including the preparation of a prescription for medication if required and Dr Whitelaw will also email a summary outlining what was discussed. Please note that it can take time to feel settled and balanced on any new medication. For many it is days, for some it is weeks and for others it can be a few months. The consultation charge includes raising any prescription plus two emails should you have any subsequent queries after your consultation. This excludes the cost of medication, which is purchased directly from the pharmacy.
INITIAL & DIAGNOSTIC FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATIONS COMBINED – £299
For new patients with prior and sufficient comprehensive results, Dr Whitelaw is happy to combine the consultations, which may sometimes speed things up but it is made available on the proviso that additional tests may be suggested following consultation, which might delay some elements of treatment. Unfortunately we cannot know until the initial consultation has been undertaken.

New patients who are prescribed medication are reviewed at 3 months initially, followed by 6-month reviews normally, though this may vary subject to their treatment plan.

MEDICATION – £ Varies
Equilibrium is not a dispensary. Once Dr Whitelaw has completed a prescription she will send it through to the pharmacy and you will then call them direct to make payment and arrange delivery. The price depends on the medication and is determined by the pharmacy.
REVIEW CONSULTATION – £145
Patients will have an initial 3-month review. Ongoing reviews are determined by Dr Whitelaw on a case-by-case basis. They are most often 6-monthly after the initial review and are via video. They provide you with the opportunity to discuss how you are progressing with treatment and also to answer any questions. At these reviews Dr Whitelaw will also advise of any changes to your medication, if required and will email a summary outlining what was discussed. The consultation charge includes raising any prescription plus two emails should you have any subsequent queries after your consultation. This excludes the cost of medication, which is purchased directly from the pharmacy.
As part of our patient care standards you will need to have a face to face consultation (via video) at least once a year in order to continue with your treatment.
PRESCRIPTION REVIEW – £55
In most instances 90 to 180 days of medication is prescribed. For those with a prescription requirement outside of a planned review, a repeat can be requested online which will require a review of your medical notes and approval by Dr Whitelaw, who may require a review consultation appointment before prescribing further.
LETTERS AND COPIES OF RESULTS
There is no charge to obtain a copy of your results however, should you require additional letters to those included in your consultation fee as detailed above or any other additional correspondence provided by Dr Whitelaw, then a £45 per document charge applies.
NOTIFYING YOUR GP
Please note that we will not contact your GP and advise them of any medication and treatment unless requested to do so by you.

To secure an appointment with the doctor, payment is required no later than 3 working days prior to your appointment – or immediately for late bookings.
