Diagnostics

It’s important to ‘test not guess’, and diagnostics are available for both patients and non patients, however non patients will receive only a brief summary comment from Dr Whitelaw, as without the benefit of a full consultation and medical history it is simply not possible for her to provide anything more than this. A blood follow-up appointment with her is available on request however, to discuss her thoughts and you will be advised of the cost (£49 to £99), which is dependent on the complexity of results.

Diagnostic tests are required to establish hormone and/or other levels. This might be so that Dr Whitelaw can prescribe hormones to the appropriate physiological level or it might be to confirm to someone that their hormones are showing signs of imbalance.  For patients consulting with Dr Whitelaw a tailored diagnostic package will be recommended after an Initial Consultation, depending upon your medical history, symptoms and preferences. Diagnostic tests available include blood, saliva, stool and urine.  A stress test is also often recommended by Dr Whitelaw.

Do all the recommended tests have to be undertaken? No. We appreciate that affordability is a factor for many, so Dr Whitelaw can prioritise tests on request however, without a full picture in terms of diagnostics, treatment may not progress as swiftly as hoped. This is due to hormones not working alone but instead as a network, with the performance of one often impacting the performance of another.

MOST OTHER BLOOD TESTS ARE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST – JUST ASK.
